Enhancing the patient environment at Withington Community Hospital’s Cataract Centre
Cataract surgery is the most common operation carried out across the NHS, and approximately 4,000 patients will undergo the procedure at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital’s dedicated Cataract Unit at Withington Community Hospital.
Many patients who undergo the procedure are nervous, and it is vital that we make the patient experience as high a priority as possible. With charitable funding we want to replace the old style chairs in the waiting area with more comfortable seating and install two new televisions that will provide entertainment and patient information. It is hoped that this will help to reduce anxiety and improve the experience of our patients during their time with us.
