Great Manchester Run 2026

Though there was a slightly wet start, the temperature rose and the sun came out to shine on over 500 fundraisers for our Charity at the 23rd Great Manchester Run last month.

After already competing in the Mascot Race the day before, Humphrey was joined by the Sale Sharks Sharky to take on the 10k! We held official cheer points at the 2k and 9k marks where we handed out sweets. These were co-hosted by charity partners Siemens, who had 40 runners across the half marathon and the 10k.

In addition to Sale Sharks Rugby Club and Siemens, our friends at ANS, Carousel PR, Johnson Law Group and Veritas Solicitors were all running in support of our MediCinema Appeal.

Over 300 members of staff from across our Trust came together to run as part of our Team MFT! This includes the 37 staff and volunteers supporting 10 young people from our Youth Service who took part and raised over £12,000!

Other Team MFT runners include the Spinal Team from Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, who doubled their funds raised from their initial target of £500!

We also had Dr Manju Pallam run with her children for the 8th year! For them, the Great Manchester Run events are an annual family tradition!

Overall, there was a really great atmosphere throughout the weekend and we can’t wait for 2027! The date for next year is 23rd May – if you’d like to register your interest now, you can do so below.
