Our Fundraising Promise

At Manchester Foundation Trust Charity we are committed to open and honest fundraising and we work hard to ensure all of our fundraising activity reflects our values as an organisation. We take great care to work with our supporters to deliver the biggest impact possible throughout our hospitals. As such, we believe that giving to us should be a positive and rewarding experience in which we promise:

To be transparent about where your money goes

We will provide information about our finances so you can see the difference your money is making for patients cared for by our family of hospitals and clinical services.

We will keep you up to date with the work your support is funding and the impact our supporters have in our hospitals.

To respect any personal data you share with us

We respect your right to privacy and your data is safe with us. We comply with data protection law and take that obligation very seriously. We will never sell on your data to third parties.

We will make it easy for you to tell us how you want us to communicate with you in a way that suits you – including how to unsubscribe from future communications.

To operate our fundraising to the highest standards

We adhere to the Code of Fundraising Practice.

We are registered with the Fundraising Regulator and display its logo on key fundraising materials to demonstrate our commitment to best practice.

We strive for the highest standards in our fundraising and are proud to champion the principles of honesty, accountability and transparency in everything we do.

We will only work with professional fundraising organisations that meet our high standards. We will monitor their work closely and if we find cause for concern will investigate as a matter of urgency.

We will do all we can to ensure that our fundraisers and volunteers comply with all fundraising regulations and this promise.

To be fair and reasonable

We will take care not to use any images or words in our materials or practices that intentionally cause distress or anxiety.

We will take care not to cause nuisance or disruption to the public in any of our fundraising practices.

To be respectful

We will never put pressure on you to make a donation or continue your support. If you do not want to give, or wish to stop giving to us, we will respect your decision.

Whenever we start a conversation, either on the phone or in person, we will ask if you are happy to speak with us.

We will be especially careful and sensitive when engaging with vulnerable people, including the elderly. Our procedures and practices reflect this.

To be accountable

We will always make it easy for you to contact us, and our fundraising team is available to help answer any queries you might have.

If you are unhappy with anything we have done, you can contact us with the details of your concern, or you can make a complaint using our complaints policy. If we make a mistake, we will apologise and do everything we can to put things right.
