Pyjama Walk 2026

Monday 05th October 2026

It was a beautiful early autumn day as more than 200 of you joined us in Heaton Park for our annual Pyjama Walk on Saturday 26th September. Seeing all of our supporters arrive in their assorted (and often matching!) PJs is always a sight to behold and this year didn’t disappoint.

Members of our Therapeutic Play service, Yvie and Jo, got everyone warmed up and talked about how important their service is for our young patients – all funds raised on the day will directly support our Play Team!

As our Humphrey bear got ready to kick off the 5k walk, attendees enjoyed face painting from Face Painting by Tasha and even a live band. He was joined by Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital patients Matty Williams and Jude Khambata to start the walk.

We couldn’t put on events like this without fantastic volunteers, and so many of you joined us this year to help our walkers around the route, including several volunteers from corporate partner Hill Dickinson.

For those who weren’t walking on the day, Heaton Park visitor were still able to participate by purchasing sweet treats at The Stables and Lakeside cafes, with £1 from each sold being donated!
