Manchester Foundation Trust Charity receives comfort boxes for patients across Manchester from Amazon

Monday 12th October 2026

Manchester Foundation Trust Charity has received more than 800 comfort boxes from Amazon’s fulfilment centre in Manchester, supporting dementia and end-of-life patients in hospital.

The boxes were assembled by 40 Amazon employees and contain toiletries, hand cream, eye masks and ear plugs. Worth £3,000 in total, the donation provides patients with everyday comfort items during their time in hospital.

Manchester Foundation Trust Charity supports patients and families across Manchester hospitals by funding projects that enhance care and wellbeing beyond core NHS provision. From equipment and research to creating more welcoming and supportive hospital environments, the Charity helps fund initiatives that can make a lasting difference to patients and their families.

The Charity also supports initiatives that focus on comfort, dignity and additional care for people facing difficult circumstances, including those receiving palliative and end-of-life care and people living with dementia.

The comfort boxes are just one of the ways Amazon and its teams support Manchester Foundation Trust Charity and patients across Manchester hospitals, alongside other fundraising and volunteering activities.

Rachel Laycock, Senior Manager at Manchester Foundation Trust Charity, said:

“We’re incredibly grateful to the Amazon team for supporting Manchester Foundation Trust Charity. The comfort boxes will make a genuine difference to patients in palliative care, providing practical items that can help bring a little comfort and dignity during an incredibly difficult time.

“Donations like this are so valuable to our work and will help us continue supporting patients and families across our Manchester hospitals, improving their experience and helping to make a difficult time a little more comfortable.”

Ian Jackson, General Manager at Amazon in Manchester, said:
“Our team jumped at the chance to support patients across Manchester hospitals. We hope these comfort boxes offer a moment of calm to the patients who receive them.”
