An Exciting 2019 for Manchester Foundation Trust Charity

Sarah Naismith
Thursday 25th July 2019

This year really is an exciting one for Manchester Foundation Trust Charity. Just this month, we were awarded Fundraising Charity of the Year at the Institute of Fundraising’s National Fundraising Awards 2019! We’re so proud of this incredible achievement. It highlights the hard work that every single member of the team puts in - it really is a whole team effort. Of course, this would not be possible without the generosity of all those who have donated to our charity. We cannot thank you enough for your support.

The past seven months have also seen huge strides towards our iMRI Scanner Appeal reaching its target and the beginning of work on the new (first of its kind in central Manchester) helipad that we raised £3.9million to fund.

What’s more, three of our hospitals are celebrating their 10th birthday at the Oxford Road campus this summer – Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, Saint Mary’s Hospital and Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. I feel privileged to celebrate a decade of these hospitals bringing together the very best in treatment, research and care along with the hundreds of thousands of patients and staff on campus.

I’m also delighted to be launching this new blog alongside Manchester Foundation Trust Charity’s completely revamped web presence. In fact, you’re reading this on our brand new website – welcome!

We wanted a new and improved way for our donors, supporters and the local community to interact with the hospitals that can be such an important part of their lives. Each of the nine hospital charities under our banner have their own featured section, making it easier than ever to find the information you need, whenever you may need it. We will be sharing regular news updates from the hospitals, as well as the vital projects that we’re working to fund at each. Each project, no matter how large or small, has been chosen because it will improve the experiences of our patients. This is at the core of everything we do and I’m really pleased that this new website can exhibit these so clearly.

We were also keen that this website should showcase the wide-ranging ways that people from Manchester, and beyond, can get involved and support their local hospital. We really have something for everyone and the new site will make it easier than ever to find what’s right for you. Take a look and let us know what you think.

Alongside this great new addition, we’ve expanded the number of ways that we can interact with our donors and supporters - you can now find us on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. We love the flexibility this gives us to be able to share the updates that matter most to our supporters in a way that’s easy for them to digest and interact with.

I’m looking forward to sharing updates and news with you each and every month – if 2019 continues as it started, I’m sure there will be more excitement to come!
