Ascot Ladies Day a Winner

On Thursday 19th June, Suzanne and Cole Page, patrons of Royal Manchester Children’s Charity, celebrated the most fashionable date of the racing calendar at their Ladies Ascot Day.

Held at the Lowry Hotel, Manchester, guests enjoyed a champagne reception and a fabulous three-course meal at the five- star hotel before being entertained by singer Cole Page and his very special guests. A record-breaking £15,247 was raised at the event.

Ladies placed their bets on the races, which were streamed live into the room, as well as being able to shop for luxurious beauty products and accessories at a number of exclusive boutique stalls which included Rose and Lee Vintage, The Pashmina Ladies, Stella and Dot and Truly Scrumptious. Ladies were also given the chance to have their makeup touched up by the Cassie Lomas Makeup Academy.

BBC presenter Hugh Ferris hosted the exclusive auction with prizes on offer including Michelle Collins’ Coronation Street wedding dress from her doomed wedding day to Corrie killer Karl Monroe, along with tickets to Celebrity Juice and a signed photograph from 1966 World Cup hero, Geoff Hurst.

Alongside the exclusive auction prizes on offer there was also the chance to win a diamond necklace, courtesy of Slack & Andrews in the raffle; this was won by the lucky Michelle Archer of Wilmslow. The very talented fashion designer to the stars, Nadine Merabi, selected the best dressed ‘filly’ on the day. This was the lovely Jannine Woodyatt who sported an eye-catching turquoise number which she had made herself!

The event, now in its sixth year, was hosted by Suzanne and Cole Page, both long-time active supporters of Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity. Commenting on this year’s event, Suzanne said:

“Our Ladies’ Ascot Day is a real ‘must attend’ event for the North West’s most stylish women. Every year we are delighted to see the effort that our guests go to to get into the spirit of the day and to help us to raise tens of thousands for Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity.”

This year, funds raised will go towards supporting the refurbishment of the Child & Adolescent Mental Health Unit, the Winnicot Centre, at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. The centre works with children and young adults who have suffered a traumatic experience or distress; children visiting the centre can be as young as three years of age.
