Clinical and Scientific Services

Clinical and Scientific Services (CSS) play an important role across the trust, providing a range of services within each of MFT’s ten hospitals. 

CSS is made up of five divisions: Imaging, Pharmacy, Anaesthetics and Critical Care, Laboratory Medicine and Allied Health Professions, each of which provide vital services to patients across Greater Manchester.

CSS employs 4,000 staff members, including health care scientists, medical engineers, pharmacists and the largest number of doctors within MFT. Across the Trust, CSS scanners perform a quarter of a million scans each year, and CSS therapy teams see over 180,000 outpatients a year.
