Get involved in our online quiz!

Tuesday 30th June 2020

Like many charities and businesses, our team has been busy exploring new ways of working as the emphasis moves to digital.

We know lots of our supporters are concerned about future events which involve large crowds, such as our popular running events, which are usually big spring and summer highlights in our calendar. We particularly enjoy the fact that events like these give us the opportunity to meet you all face-to-face and meet the family members and friends who have inspired you to do your challenge for us.

These gatherings usually involve a crowd of supporters or fellow competitors too – sometimes it’s work colleagues, sometimes it’s families and often it can be friends you have made through your experiences at one of our fantastic, world class hospitals.

As we adapt to new ways of life it’s difficult to accept how many of these special moments we have already missed out on and may still have to wait for in future.

Which is why we wanted to provide an opportunity for you to get together with friends and family (virtually, of course) with a special celebrity online quiz.

“Celebrity Quiz: Celebrating 72 years of our NHS” will be a fantastic opportunity to celebrate our amazing NHS, raise some money and, of course, release a bit of that competitive nature with your fellow Manchester Foundation Trust Charity supporters.

We’re so happy that quizmaster Gavin Inskip has agreed to host and we have a whole gang of celebrities asking questions, including Hollyoaks actors Ashley Taylor Dawson and Sarah Jayne Dunn, Manchester favourite John Thomson, singer Max George, our very own city Mayor Andy Burnham, new Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity patrons Max & Harvey, actors Sam Kane (who of course played Peter Phelan in Brookside) and David Neilson (Roy from Corrie!), and Linda Lusardi, who, together with husband Sam, has experienced first-hand the wonderful NHS after contracting Covid-19 earlier this year.

We’re also being supported by our friends at ANS, who have kindly agreed to match fund the event.

What could be better than an online quiz night with friends? One that includes celebrity guests AND raising money of course!

The online quiz is taking place on Sunday, 5th July at 8pm which ties in perfectly with the 72nd birthday of the NHS. We’d love to hear how you’ll be joining us: are you taking part with family or housemates? Are you dressing up? Will there be birthday balloons and cake? Or are you a serious quizzer who shows up 20 minutes early with five pens (just in case)?

Whatever your style, we can’t wait to see you there! There will be some fantastic famous faces, a chance to win some special prizes and, of course, the opportunity to make a contribution to our NHS hospitals all while remaining on the sofa!

Click here to sign up to the online quiz for just £5. And don’t forget to share the link with friends and family – for every £5 entry fee paid, ANS are kindly match funding. So the more people that play, the more we can raise for Manchester Foundation Trust Charity.
