Help Children this Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday RMCH
Tuesday 28th November 2017

Giving Tuesday is a global fundraising campaign which aims to inspire people to give to their charity of choice on Tuesday 1st December.

The day follows the increasingly popular shopping days, ‘Black Friday’ and ‘Cyber Monday’ and encourages charity supporters to give what they can to make a real difference in the lead up to Christmas.

Here at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity we are asking the people of the North West to support our children’s hospital on this day of giving back. No matter how large or small the donation your support will help to make a difference to the hundreds of patients who will be in Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital this Christmas time.

Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital is the largest children’s hospital in the country serving not just Manchester but the whole of the North West, and often beyond. Hoping to replicate the successes in the United States, where Giving Tuesday originated, Manchester is spearheading the movement here in the UK.

Over the festive period we are asking people to support the charity’s One Big Wish Appeal which will ake a difference to our patients by easing their fears and taking their minds off the medical procedures they dread, by providing special 3D Pain Distraction Units.

At first glance, these state-of-the-art units look just like giant TVs, but they’re actually so much more special. They project a series of interactive 3D images and games that children can control and enjoy whilst they undergo medical treatment. Wearing special 3D glasses, the child becomes completely immersed in a colourful world of virtual reality that distracts them from pain and blocks out the frightening sights and sounds of the treatment room.

To support our One Big Wish appeal please donate by texting OBWA17 £5 to 70070 or donate online via our donation form.
