EVENT: 80s FEST

Dates:  Saturday 8th July 2017

Times:  12 noon to 10pm

Number of volunteers required:  20

Location:  Ashton-on-Mersey RUFC, Banky Lane, Sale  M33 5SL

Age Restriction?  Any volunteers under 17 years of age must be accompanied by someone over 18 years at all times.

Details:  80s Fest features top 80s tribute acts and this year is supporting Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity.  The line up includes David Live (David Bowie), Simple Minded, Bon Jovi UK, Talk of the Town (The Pretenders) and Pat Martin (Gary Numan).   We have been given permission to collect at the festival and need volunteers to undertake this.  You will be given free entry to the day and we ask you are able to volunteer for a minimum of 4 hours.

Please note:  This event takes place outside and you will be responsible for making your own way to and from the venue.  We are waiting for confirmation if parking is available for volunteers.  Please note that this event is organised by one of our supporters and a member of the charity team may not be present when you volunteer

EVENT: GREAT NORT WEST TRUCK SHOW

Dates:  Saturday 15th July and Sunday 16th July 2017

Times:  Saturday: 9.30am to 2pm; 1.30pm to 6pm    Sunday 9.30am to 1pm; 12.30pm to 4pm

Number of volunteers required:  2 for each slot (8 in total)

Location:  Etihad Campus, Manchester  M11

Age Restriction?  Over 18 years only

Details:  The third Great North West Truck Show takes place at the home of Manchester City Football Club with all proceeds donated to our project to provide an adapted minibus for our Palliative Care Community Team.  We are looking for volunteers to work on the box office, taking entry fees from the public. This will be a busy role so you will need to be comfortable dealing with the public, handling cash and be able to keep smiling under pressure.  Volunteers will be given free entry to the show before/after their slot.

Please note: This event takes place outside although the box office is under cover. In addition, this event is organised by one of our supporters and a member of the charity team may not be present when you volunteer.  There will be supervisors to assist volunteers at all times.

Travel:  You will be responsible for making your own way to and from the Ethihad Campus which is well served by public transport. Free parking will be available.

EVENT: BEACH BUGGY WEEKEND

Now in it’s 7th year, the weekend sees a group of Beach Buggies coming to the hospital on the Saturday to entertain our patients.  Then on the Sunday, it’s off to VW North West, one of the largest VW shows, at Tatton Park where we have a stall and collect donations from member of the public.

Where:  Tatton Park, Knutsford

When:  Sunday 5th August 2017

How Long:  10.00am to 3pm

Number of volunteers required:  20

Any particular skills required:  We need volunteers on this day to help staff our stall, be our mascot, Humphrey Bear and collection donations from the public.  Enthusiasm, confidence and your best smile to encourage donations. Please note this event takes place outside.

Travel:  Volunteers will be responsible for making their own way to and from Tatton Park.  Free parking will be available

EVENT: GORTON CARNIVAL

Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity will have a stall in Debdale Park, Gorton as part of this fantastic community day – we need volunteers to help run this.

Where:  Gorton Debdale Park, Manchester, M18 7LJ

When:  Sunday 3rd September 2017

How Long:  Stall: 10.30am until 5pm.

Number of volunteers required:  3

Any particular skills required:  Enjoying dealing with the general public, enthusiasm and your best smile. We ask that volunteers are able to help for a minimum of 4 hours.

Travel:  Volunteers will be responsible for making their own way to and from the Park.
