Volunteer to help raise funds for our Helipad Appeal

Volunteering for our family of hospitals is a fun and rewarding way to help us make a difference. Your time and talent is valuable in helping to support our fundraising work.

We're on the lookout for helpful and reliable volunteers to assist with a wide range of volunteer opportunities in the upcoming months. All funds raised will go towards our Time Saves Lives Appeal to build a primary helipad landing site at our central hospital site.

Whether it is store collections, helping out at our events, or assisting in our charity office, there are many ways that you can get involved. Take a look at the list below to see which volunteer opportunity best suits you...


Beach Buggy Weekend

Now in it’s 6th year, this weekend sees a group of Beach Buggies coming to the hospital on the Saturday to entertain our patients.

On the Sunday, it’s off to VW North West, one of the largest VW shows, at Tatton Park where we have a stall and collect donations from members of the public

Where: Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital

When:  Saturday 6th August 2016

How Long: 10.30am to 3pm

Number of volunteers required: 3

Any particular skills required: We need volunteers on this day to help staff our stall and also be our mascot, Humphrey Bear.

Travel: Volunteers will be responsible for making their own way to and from the hospital.

Please note: This event takes place outside the front of the hospital.

Where: Tatton Park, Knutsford

When: Sunday 7th August 2016

How Long:  10.30am to 3pm

Number of volunteers required:  20

Any particular skills required: We need volunteers on this day to help staff our stall, be our mascot, Humphrey Bear and collect donations from the public. Enthusiasm, confidence and your best smile to encourage donations. Please note this event takes place outside.

Travel: Volunteers will be responsible for making their own way to and from Tatton Park.

Gorton Carnival

Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity has been selected as the charity for this year’s Gorton Carnival. We require volunteers to take part in the parade (we will provide charity t-shirts), to collect donations and also help out at the celebratory event in Debdale Park afterwards.

Where: Gorton – Debdale Park is the base.

When: Sunday 4th September 2016.

How Long:  Parade: 10.30am – 12 noon (approx)
Stall: 10.30am until 5pm.

Number of volunteers required:  10 for the parade; 4 for the stall.

Any particular skills required: Enthusiasm and your best smile!

Travel: Volunteers will be responsible for making their own way to and from hospital.
